High Performance Driver's Education
Welcome to Oregon Region's High Performance Driver Education Program. We hope you will find these pages informative. If you should have any questions regarding any part of this program, please call or email any of the driver education officials below.
We had a great year in 2007 and we are looking forward to 2008. We are excited about our program in 2008. We have 9 HPDE days on the calendar. I know that is a lot for the Portland market. My reasoning is that we asked for the remodeled track we should pay for it. For our program, instead of raising the fees, I increased the number of days of fun. More seat time for the money. We have 6 weekday events that open to participants at 7am and end around 4pm. We offer three Sunday events that start in the late morning with first car out after lunch and run past dinner. We are planning on serving a light dinner for these three events. This year we have a three tier pricing structure that encourages early registration. PCA members can register a week or so earlier than non members. We have implemented some new rules and an annual vehicle inspection program. Hopefully this will enhance our enjoyment of our hobby and sport.
Announcing a Season Pass program for HPDE in 2008. With 9 events on the calendar we feel we can offer a season pass to participants that makes sense from a Club and Customer point of view. The pass will get you a 14.5% discount on the early bird registration fee this year. Instead of $1215 you pay $1039 for a savings of $176. In addition Season pass holders will never be excluded from an ORPCA HPDE event even if it is full. The only constraint is you will have to register at least 1 week prior to the event. Normal cancellation clauses do not apply and if you miss more than one DE this year, we will carry the credit to next year. (This particular policy only applies to the 2008 season). If you want to purchase a season pass contact Don Clinkinbeard (503 970 4848) and I will arrange this for you.
We have a great staff so far this year but can always use a few more volunteers. Most of the tasks are easily learned and do not involve a burdensome time commitment, but all are important. Give me a call if you would like to help out.
