October SUV Drive

Please join our October 26 SUV Drive which is being organized by Bob Ellis.   We will start in Hillsboro and travel north over the hills of Helvetia to our first rest stop at the Scapoose Veterans Park.  Proceeding onward we will traverse some rarely driven back roads, past farms, and scenic forested areas before joining the Scapoose Vernonia Hwy.  We then continue north on the Nehalem Hwy 47 to Mist where we turn towards Clatskanie and enjoy 12 miles of fabulous Porsche twisties.  Following a short rest stop, we will drive a loop running north through Mayger where the hillside road overlooks the Columbia River.  We will end our drive at Calvin’s Pub and Grill in Clatskanie, Oregon. This drive will be over all paved roads covering around 97 miles.

Registration is open. We have room for 13 cars.  ORPCA members are welcome to join us with non Porsche SUVs.  Please arrive by 9:00 am with a participant’s meeting at 9:15 am and leave by 9:30 am. We will need someone to sweep for this drive, please volunteer when you register. 

General Information

• The “Release and Waiver of Liability” will be available to sign at the start of the drive.  
• Registration is by car. Each driver please register their car. If you have a navigator, please register that person at the same time. If you don’t have a navigator, just mark the navigator questions as NA. Please see registration at the bottom of this page.
• Attendance is limited to 1 group with 13 cars.
• Please note: The start location and a printable PDF file of Route Directions along with Scenic Navigation App and Ride with GPS Navigation app information will be provided 2 days prior to the event to all registrants. Please do not share this information with anyone else. Please check your SPAM folder if you do not get an email with this information by 5:00pm the day before the event.
