August SUV Drive: Picnic Lunch – Canceled

Join us for the August SUV drive and enjoy a full day tour to the coast with optional gravel segments and a picnic lunch.  We will start in NE Hillsboro and end the morning at the Nehalem City Park.  The main route is all paved and depending on interest those willing to enjoy a little gravel and rarely viewed scenery will have two opportunities of 7 miles and 15 miles during the drive.

The Nehalem City Park has covered picnic tables in the event that there is rain.  Bring your picnic lunch and chair(s) if you wish to be socially distant from one of the tables.

There will be one group with a maximum of 14 SUV’s. ORPCA members may participate with any roadworthy SUV.   We will meet at 8:30 am, have a safety meeting at 8:45 am and depart at 9:00 am.

A volunteer is needed for the sweep role during the drive and if there is enough interest in driving on gravel we will split at times into two groups. If there is a gravel group, a volunteer leader for the paved group and sweep for the gravel group will be needed. (Leader of tour, will lead the gravel section)

Registration is open and will close on Sunday, August 21 at 5:00pm.

Registration information:

• The “Release and Waiver of Liability” will be available to sign at the start of the drive.
• Registration is by car. Each driver must register their car. If you have a navigator, you will register that person at the same time. If you don’t have a navigator, just mark the navigator questions as NA. Please see registration at the bottom of this page.
• The start location and a printable PDF file of Route Directions and Scenic Navigation App access will be provided a day before the event to all registrants. Please do not share this information with anyone else. Please check your SPAM folder if you do not get an email with all the information by 5:00pm the day before the event.
