For those of you who cannot wait for the June Northwest Passage please join co-leaders Todd Hess and Randy Homes on a three-day tour to the Snake River and Bake(r) City. We will be based in Baker City for two nights and cover nearly 900 miles of driving over scenic, twisty, and mostly isolated backroads east of the Cascades, including at least eight summits over 4,000 feet in elevation. Please be aware that this will be a very spirited drive over some of the best driving roads in the Pacific Northwest. Experienced drivers only please.
We will meet Thursday morning at the Huckleberry Inn at Government Camp, have lunch in Fossil, and end the day in Baker City where we will stay at the Geiser Grand Hotel. Friday, we head towards Oxbow Dam at the Oregon/Idaho border and have lunch in Weiser, ID. The return trip on Saturday will take us to some club favorite roads through Heppner and Condon finally ending at Celilo Park just east of The Dalles.
The registration fee of $220 per person includes the cost of the Thursday and Friday night dinners that will be held at the Geiser Grand Hotel. Details, including special hotel registration instructions and meal options will be provided after registration.
We have room for 12 cars and 22 participants. Please arrive by 9:00 am at the Huckleberry Inn in Government Camp (88611 Government Camp Loop, Government Camp, OR 97028). Participant’s safety meeting at 9:15 and leave by 9:30.
