Jim Goetsch, Secretary

My journey as a car enthusiast spans several decades, beginning with my 1971 Datsun 240Z in college (Go Ducks!).   The need for family practicality ultimately led me to the world of Volvo and Audi performance sedans and wagons, and included some fun beasts like the classic Audi RS6 and S8.  Ultimately, after meeting love of my life and future bride, Valerie, during the pandemic and deciding that we needed a fun weekend car, a good friend from work said, “Dude you should get a 911!”   Following exhaustive research and a leap of faith, I found my first Porsche, a 2003 911 996.2 Targa, flew to Sacramento, CA and drove it home the same day.  Thus began my Porsche journey.  We joined the PCA shortly thereafter.

Between the two of us, Valerie and I have owned 4 other Porsches since then, and cannot imagine not having at least a 911 in the garage as long as we can still drive one!  We love being an active part of the ORPCA, meeting and getting to know so many wonderful people, and participating in a variety of sports car and SUV drives throughout the year.  We continue to be cheerleaders for the brand, the cars, and most of all, the people!
